Thursday, September 147:00—8:15 PMMain Floor- Main Reading RoomAmherst Town Library14 Main Street, Amherst, NH, 03031

Ever wondered how to use your kitchen scraps and yard waste to make compost that can be used to nurture your gardens while lessening your environmental impact? Or maybe you currently compost, but you'd like to learn how to improve your results. Even if you live in an apartment or condo, this "Show and Tell" presentation is for you.

This hands-on demonstration by a panel of experienced gardeners and composters  will show you how to do traditional outdoor composting with bins or tumblers, indoor composting using compost "appliances", vermiculture, or Bokashi, and how to take advantage of the DPW's food diversion initiative. Panelists include Master Gardeners, Natural Resource Stewards, and the Director of the Amherst Department of Public Works. We'll also touch on how to use compost in your garden and the benefits of doing so. There will be plenty of easy-to-use tips based on personal experience, resources for digging deeper, and time for questions at the end.
