Susan King was born in MA, but has lived in NH for almost 30 years. She is an award-winning realism painter who works primarily in acrylics and also mixed media. She is inspired by the New England coastline and woodland beauty, which are so prevalent in this area. She also enjoys painting florals, fruit still lifes, collections, and most recently, food art close-ups. In all of her work, Susan strives to make the viewer feel that they are at that place, could take a bite of that apple, could smell the aroma of the flower, and get hungry looking at the food art. She paints from strong reference photos to achieve the most realistic capture of her subject matter.

Susan is a member of the Nashua Area Artists’ Association, a wonderful non-profit which inspired her to go back into painting after raising her family and struggling through cancer over 17 years ago.

Susan started the private Facebook group An Art Movement: Artists Promoting the Arts, shortly after Covid began in November 2020. The group has steadily grown to more than 3,700 members of artists and art lovers all across the United States and in 77 countries. It was her chance to bring all kinds of beautiful, diverse art together, as the artists and art lovers share ideas, post their work, and motivate and inspire each other.

Susan King accepts commissions from wonderful reference photos, and her work can be found on her website at https://susankkingart.weebly.com, on her art page on Facebook (SusanKKingArt), and on Instagram (susankkingart).
