Trio Belmont was created after Colleen Hartung (clarinet), Hyun Min Lee (cello), and Svetlana Krasnova (piano) met while teaching together at a community music school in Belmont, Massachusetts. The ensemble was formed with the idea of introducing more audiences to the beautiful and captivating music of the clarinet trio. Trio Belmont hopes to further this interest in the clarinet trio by performing lesser-known works, creating new arrangements of other chamber music pieces, and commissioning new compositions for the group. 

With this goal in mind Trio Belmont has performed for a wide variety of audiences and ages, including the Community Music series and Bach’s Lunch series at Groton Hill Music Center, the Faculty Artist series at Brookline Music School, the Faculty Series at Powers School of Music, and New Bridge on the Charles. This season includes performances at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, the Faculty Artist series at Brookline Music School, BCCM and Somerville Music Spaces’ Open Mic! Night.
