Honeybees and Backyard Beekeeping: an Amherst Garden Club Side Shoots program (In-Person)

Honeybees are critical to pollination of many agricultural crops as well as many plants and flowers. In this talk you will learn about honeybees, their colonies and social structure, and information about honey. In addition, you will learn about backyard beekeeping – what’s involved with keeping bees, the equipment involved, and an overview of the beekeeping process.

Presenter Mark Parenti is a software engineer who has lived in Milford for 35+ years. He has been a beekeeper since 2017. His bee business - Pappy's Honey - maintains 2 apiaries with 8 hives.
